Jun 15, 2010 — Saelig Company, Inc. has introduced PS4227 - a new, economical 2-channel 100MHz USB scope with a real-time sampling rate of 250 MSa/s. PS4227 is a precision USB oscilloscope suitable for general, scientific and field-service use. With 12-bit resolution - adjustable up to 16 bits in enhanced resolution mode for repetitive signals - it also makes an excellent A/D choice for noise, vibration and mechanical analysis. Powered from a PC’s USB port, PS4227 includes an integrated spectrum analyzer, function generator and arbitrary waveform generator - a complete test and measurement laboratory that is small enough to take anywhere. With two 12-bit input channels and a bandwidth of 100 MHz, detailed waveforms can be captured for production testing, scientific analysis, electronic design and debug tasks. A third input is a dedicated external trigger, while a fourth BNC connector is provided for the output of the signal generator. This signal source allows you to create an arbitrary test signal, draw your own waveform using the graphical editor, or use one of the six preset waveform types. PS4227 can sample at rates up to 250 MS/s, and has a usefully large 32 Megasample buffer memory, allowing the maximum sampling rate to be used even on slow time-bases. The buffer can hold up to 10,000 waveforms, viewable in an easy-access pop-up navigator window. PicoScope oscilloscope software is included, which provides a wide range of advanced functions such as mask limit testing, alarms, serial data decoding, programmable low-pass filtering, math channels, reference waveforms, Digital Color and Analog Persistence display modes and XY mode. Advanced trigger selections include pulse width, window, interval, dropout, and runt pulse. PS4227 is powered from the USB 2.0 interface, removing the need for an external power supply. A USB2.0 port allows high-speed data to be delivered to the host PC to give a responsive, high-resolution display. With up to 250 MS/s real-time sampling, PS4227 is the fastest available USB-powered 12-bit scope on the market. PS 4227 is supplied with PicoScope oscilloscope software – a complete test and measurement lab in one easy-to-use application. As well as a fully-functioning oscilloscope with advanced features such as digital persistence, math functions and automated measurements, PicoScope software provides spectrum analyzer, function generator and arbitrary waveform generator functionality also. A free software development kit containing software drivers and example code is also provided, and unlimited free software updates can be web-downloaded as they become available. PS4227 comes with a 5-year parts-and-labor warranty. Made by Pico Technology, Europe’s leading scope adapter manufacturer, PS4227 is available now at $1479.00 from Saelig Co. Inc. Pittsford NY, and includes probes and a carrying case.
