Aven Adds Four Stealth Cutters For Reliable, Easy Wire Trimming

| Feb 3, 2012 — Four oval head Stealth Cutters are the latest addition to an extensive line of professional-grade hand tools from Aven, Inc. These American-made wire cutters are designed for medical device manufacturers, electronics fabricators, telecom technicians, aerospace assemblers and electricians. They can trim soft copper leads up to 1.20 mm in diameter (17 AWG) or smaller than a hair strand. The models, called Stealth Cutters because of their glare-reducing anodized black finish, have flush or semi-flush edges and two sizes. The standard version has a 9.5 mm head width and 8.4 mm blade length, while a larger version has a 25-percent bigger oval head and cutting area. Each is 120 mm long (4¾ inches), with ESD-safe cushion grips to avoid electronics damage. Semi-flush models have the longest cutting life and produce a small pinch on the tip of snipped wire, thanks to an edge bevel. Flush cutters have a minimum bevel. Each head is angled at 16 degrees. High-grade carbon steel, rated 63 to 65 on the Rockwell hardness scale, assures durability for hundreds of thousands of cuts. Ergonomic handles and dual leaf springs make the cutters easy to use. Aven recently added the four varieties to its online catalog and will introduce them at the Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) West exposition in Anaheim, Calif., from Feb. 14-16.
