| Mar 4, 2011 — Cosmos Enterprises of Elbow Lake Minnesota has increased their production capabilities with the recent acquisition of two new CNC machines.
A Mori Seiki NL2500 lathe, will be dedicated to chucking parts only, including castings in all types of materials. It has 16" diameter, and up to 250 pound capability. Also included in this purchase was an overhead material handling system.
A Haas Super VF4 horizontal machining center was also purchased at the same time, and has been placed next to the Mori Seiki lathe, primarily for second operation machining of parts as they come out of the lathe.
This "work center" increases Cosmos size capability, and decreases the time delay in scheduling between machines requiring both turning and milling processes.
