| | Feb 28, 2011 — Electro Standards Laboratories, Cranston, RI, announces the PathWay® Model 7270 DB9 A/B/C Switch with Serial Remote Control Port. The Model 7270 provides single channel switching in a low profile, 19-inch 1U rack unit. The switch allows the user the capability of sharing a single DB9 interface device connected to the Common port among three other devices connected to the A, B, and C ports.
The Model 7270 may be controlled via the front-panel pushbutton or remotely from the DB9/female serial interface Control port. Remote control via ASCII commands allows the user to change switch position and query the unit for present switch status. The LED display indicates the switch position and unit power status.
For additional versatility, all 9 pins of the DB9 interface are switched and the switched ports are transparent to all data. For reliability, latching relays maintain connection and switch position during power loss.
