Dec 10, 2013 — With a lightweight, low mass core and a compact 3/8” diameter, Macro Sensors CD Series of Subminiature LVDT Position Sensors offer the low weight, compact size and accuracy necessary for many of today’s aerospace applications with tight space and weight restrictions. Ideal for high response dynamic measurement such as valve position, the CD Series of Subminiature LVDTs are used in various pneumatic butterfly valve applications (shut-off valve, fan air valve, wing anti-ice valves) on business jet applications. These AC-operated Linear Displacement Sensors also provide reliable displacement measurement for monitoring fuel/oil level and flight surfaces of airplanes as well as load leveling of artillery platforms and rudder positions of aircraft carriers, tankers, ships, submarines and UAVs. With the advent of ratiometrics and digital signal processing techniques, Macro Sensors linear position sensors have greatly improved in temperature stability and accuracy. The subminiature Linear Position Sensors feature excellent repeatability (error of <0.01% of FSO) and high resolution . Environmentally robust, the CD 375 LVDTs operate in temperature extremes of -65F to +220F (-55C to +105C). Macro Sensors also offers high pressure and temperature configurations that operate up to +400 °F (+200C) and under pressures up to 20 Kpsi. Stainless steel housings and epoxy encapsulation protects units from environmentally hostile conditions. Macro Sensors Subminiature Linear Position Sensors can be customized with Teflon® bore liners and metric threaded cores as well as different lead wire exit points and connectors. Units are available in measurement ranges from 0.025” (0.63mm) to 1.0” (25.0mm) and offer a 50% larger core-to-bore radial clearance of 0.012” (0.30mm) than similar-sized competitive units. Custom versions operate in pressurized fluids, higher ambient temperatures as well as in mild nuclear radiation environments. Interchangeable with other manufacturer units, the CD 375 Series LVDTs operate with conventional differential input LVDT signal conditioners. Macro Sensors manufactures a full line of LVDT signal conditioners that offer optimum performance from any CD 375 Series LVDTs.
