Gear Motor Manufacturers
A gearmotor is a type of electric motor that consists of an AC or DC motor built with an integrated gearbox. In this motor, the drive shaft of the electric motor is used to drive the set of gears in the gearbox, which in turn powers a secondary drive shaft at an appropriate speed. The gearbox is used to either step down or step up the speed of the electric motor, based on the requirements of the application; though in most cases the gearbox is a reduction gearbox. These reduction gearmotors are commonly used for applications that require increased torque with reduced output speed. Gearmotors are available in two configurations, inline gearmotors and right-angled gearmotors, which are classified based on the orientation of the secondary shaft to the motor.
