Jacketed Gasket Manufacturers
A jacketed gasket is a specialized gasket that consists of soft filler material, completely encapsulated by metal such that the filler material is not exposed. Jacketed and double-jacketed gaskets essentially combine the sealing capabilities of the soft filler, along with the temperature resistance offered by the metal jacket. They are generally used in applications where gaskets might be exposed to high temperatures as well as chemicals. In fact, the encapsulation and filler materials for these gaskets are chosen to ensure optimum chemical and temperature resistance. Some of the various filler materials used are graphite, Teflon®, and ceramic, while common encapsulation materials are brass, steel, Monel, and copper.
