Rubber Compression Molding Companies
Rubber compression molding is a variant of molding process where an uncured rubber preform is inserted into the mold cavity directly before closing the mold. Weight of the uncured rubber preform is maintained high in comparison to the final product to avoid voids or air traps in the end product. The rubber is squeezed between the plates at the top and bottom; the number of plates can be varied to two, three or more depending upon the part complexity and configuration. The rubber is subsequently subjected to vulcanization by both heat and pressure energies. This type of molding is generally used on less bulky parts followed by deflashing of these parts in a secondary operation under cryogenic conditions.
