U-Tube heat exchangers offer an extremely cost effective means of handling a wide range of fluid temperatures, avoiding problems of leakage commonly associated with packing or O-rings sometimes used. Our Shell & Tube heat exchangers consist of a shell containing a ”U” shape tube-bundle, both ends sealed at a common tube-sheet. This arrangement isolates the tubes from the shell while allowing for large differential expansion at operating temperatures. Perhaps the most commonly found industrial heat exchanger, it is available in a wide range of configurations, particularly as related to the front and rear head design. The construction is not well suited to high external fins, but bare tubes, rifled tubes and low-finned tubes are available and provide limited enhancement in these cases. One particular feature is that flange connections are used for both fluids. |
