| Wilfley invented the expeller over 80 years ago, and continues to pioneer new hydrodynamic sealing technology. This page from Wilfley's corporate history features photos of Arthur Redman, Wilfley's founder and Elmer Wilfley, Wilfley's first president. Arthur Redman was described in a 1927 issue of "Engineering and Mining Journal" as an inventor-genius who ascribed to Thomas A. Edison's recipe for genius in that 90% of the ingredients is perspiration and 10% is inspiration. One of the last of Arthur Wilfley's many inventions was a centrifugal pump that operated with a centrifugal seal -- the first packingless pump. This invention is the cornerstone on which A.R. Wilfley and Sons was built. | |
