Copper inlays are used in pens made of Ebony and match the copper assembly (nib, clip, center band). Instruments use gold, silver, brass, turquoise, coral materials to enhance the beauty of the pen. Some pens are finished with sterling silver assembly. Antler pens look like ivory and when laser equipment isuse leaves a design replicating scrimshaw art.
