| | Our roots go back to 1946 when Emil Gauthier, Fred Kennedy and George Myrick organized Rochester Products Company to manufacture inventions of Mr. Myrick. The company, at that time managed by Emil Gauthier, proceeded to gather metal fabricating equipment and began to manufacture the Myrick inhalator and several other medically-oriented Myrick products. Rochester Products grew to employ approximately 65 people, and one of its major products was the Rochester Plastic Needle. This needle was developed with the cooperation of Mayo Clinic. It was used for the administration of intravenous therapy and was the forerunner of all plastic intravenous needles in use today.
In January 1965, the Gauthier family purchased the assets of Rochester Products Company and organized a new company, Rochester Medical Equipment Company which continued to manufacture some of Mr. Myrick's inventions and pursued the development of the contract metal fabricating business that was started with Rochester Products Company.
In the spring of 1974, the Gauthier family reorganized to form Gauthier Industries, a family corporation. We are continuing many of the same operations of Rochester Medical Equipment Company with more emphasis on metal stamping and contract metal fabrication/manufacturing. We moved to our present 38,000 square foot facility in August of 1981.
In 1998 we became ISO 9001 certified. In 2002, we installed a new powder coating system in our main plant.
Today we have 104,000 square feet, employ 90 people and service companies throughout the United States. Our specialty is smaller and mid-sized production sheet metal parts, stampings, enclosures, as well as powder coated finishes. Our emphasis is service, quality and continuous improvement for our customers. | |
