At first glance, Oren Elliott Products, Inc. appears to be a very modern and possibly recently formed manufacturer, with the latest in sophisticated multiaxis CNC machine tools, 3D design software, and a customer base that includes Fortune 500 companies on the cutting edge of technology. Beneath the surface, however, lies a rich tradition of precision machining in production quantities. Since 1925, screw-machined subcomponents have been produced at the Plant One facility, originally under the name American Steel Packaging. At the height of production during World War II, American Steel Packaging (later to become All Star Products) produced millions of screw machine parts and electromechanical assemblies for the allied war effort.
OEP Couplings, a division of Oren Elliott Products, Inc., makes use of this machining prowess, offering a full line of flexible and rigid shaft couplings. The couplings' machined subcomponents are produced on CNC Swiss screw machines with live tooling, capable of holding micron tolerances, under a quality system registered to the ISO9001:2000 standard. Based in rural northwest Ohio, OEP Couplings draws from a local labor pool rich in machining expertise, and benefits from a relatively low cost of living, enabling OEP to offer considerable value to customers in the US, Europe, and Asia.
