About Poly-Pacific Technology, Inc: |
Plastic Abrasives specifications were developed for the United States Air Force at Hill AFB in the 1980's to find a replacement for chemical stripping of paint and coatings from aircraft. They were looking for a surface cleaning medium that was efficient, effective, and environmentally acceptable. Out of those tests MIL-P-85891A was developed. Poly-Pacific Technologies manufactures our MultiCut™ plastic blast media that is used in this dry stripping process where these small angular plastic particles are propelled by compressed air against a painted surface lifting the paint off and leaving a clean, unmarred substrate. Although Plastic Media Blasting (PMB) was originally designed for aviation applications, Poly-Pacific's MultiCut™ plastic media has now expanded its use to include ground support vehicles, marine transportation, electronic circuitry, composite materials, mold cleaning, and many other industrial applications. MultiCut™ Plastic Media has been engineered to have a variety of hardness, densities, particle sizes so that it has become the superior blasting media. Poly-Pacific also has a Lease & Recycle Program available for the spent media dust where we sell it through a Lease and Recycle Program. The used PBM, as well as used glass beads, aluminum oxide and garnet abrasive dust, are taken back from Generators to be incorporated into new products. The recycling program was developed in accordance with US EPA criteria. This process produces plastic lumber from recycled polyethylene containers and used blasting media and is done at our two recycling plants in the United States and in Canada. Poly-Pacific's recycling program had been approved by 7 USA EPA Regions and 36 States all across the USA as well as the Canadian Government. More applications are being made as demands increase for our Lease and Recycle program. Accredited product test reports from Enviro-Test laboratory, and independent environmental audit results from CH2MHILL are available upon request. All our products are manufactured to MIL-P-85891A standards.
