Round Pyrathane belts can be manufactured in any size from .062" through .562" in cross section in 70A, 83A and 92A durometers. We also have available materials that are specifically designed for outdoor use or for environments with ultraviolet light exposure or for applications where static dissipation is desirable. We manufacture belts in fractional, decimal and millimeter equivalents as well as O-ring size dimensions. | |||||||||
Round cross section Pyrathane belts will run satisfactorily in either "V" or round bottom pulleys. "V" bottom pulleys will, however, provide a superior drive to round bottom pulleys because of the wedging action of the round polyurethane in the "V" pulley. Round bottom pulleys may allow slippage in higher load situations which may or may not be desirable. | |||||||||
Flat belts are available in 70A, 83A and 92A durometers and can be manufactured in any thickness from .030" through .187" and almost any width up to 1.500". We also have available materials that are specifically designed for outdoor use or for environments with ultraviolet light exposure or for applications where static dissipation is desirable. | |||||||||
To achieve good tracking characteristics with flat belts, we recommend that they be run on a crowned drive pulley. Crowning the drive (output) pulley is recommended. If this is not possible, the driven (input) pulley can be crowned. Generally, flanged pulleys are only suitable with thicker material. Several methods of achieving a crown can be employed successfully. Pulley configuration illustrations are available on our website. | |||||||||
Pyramid Inc. manufactures "PC" Connectable Belts. This innovative product has many distinct advantages over other repair type belts. The belt comes with the connector already assembled into one end which eliminates fumbling for lost connectors. This "tight wedge" connector requires no crimping to achieve maximum belt life. Life tests indicate that the tight wedge connector causes the elastic belt to flex adjacent to the connector and eliminates the scrubbing-wearing action which takes place between a loose connector and the belt loops, causing premature failures. | |||||||||
The "PC Belt" has been designed to quickly and easily replace line shaft-to-roller or roller-to-roller belts on live roller conveyors, in your facility without adhesives or welding. Simply drop the roller, loop the "PC Belt" around the line shaft and hook the ends together with the preassembled heavy duty stainless steel connector, reposition the roller and you are back in business. We manufacture and stock the "PC Belt" in several standard sizes and will custom manufacture other sizes. | |||||||||
Endless Belt Measuring Tool Handy, accurate, non-destructive o-ring/endless belt measuring tool Pyramid's Diametape provides a consistent, accurate measurement of the inside diameter (I.D.) or the inside circumference (I.C.) of an o-ring or endless belt without destroying the belt. Instructions to convert this information to the centerline circumference (length) measurement are included. The Diametape is an excellent tool to easily determine the size of a replacement belt. It is also a very quick, easy to use and accurate quality inspection tool. |
