| | Rubinger's Manufacturing Co. is the American dream. Starting in 1979 by John R Nightlinger Jr. and his wife Ruby, who had always wanted to start his own business, not just for the challenge, but to teach his three son's a trade and build in them a sense of pride, honesty, and to help them see that hard work, persistence, and quality will allow the American dream to last.
The business name was created from John's wife's name, Ruby Nightlinger, Ru-bing-er's. He chose this over Nightlinger & Son's for two reasons, one was to have a business name that was different and second reason was to try and win his wife over to this great leap of faith.
In 1979 Rubinger's Welding & Fabrication was started in a building the size of a two car garage equipped with a portable welder, a hand grinder, drill press, pipe stand, and the smallest band saw you've ever seen. In the early days the family of five was the work crew. Three of the five were age's fourteen, twelve, & seven, ok the seven year old mostly played.
John started out working in citrus plants, pipe welding, then some production parts for in house work for Ruby and the boy's. This led to more in house work like concrete anchors made from flat bar and bolts welded together. An Oxy-Acetylene pattern torch was purchase for part cutting and then a used Iron Worker for cutting flat bar and punching holes. Rubinger's Welding & Fabrication was incorporated in 1988 to Rubinger's Manufacturing Company. We've been growing ever since. So, as you can see Rubinger's Manufacturing Company is the American dream, started by a father wanting a better life for himself and his family, and to teach his sons a trade that would help them put food on the table for their families.
