 MECHANICAL PRESSES

Stamtec's Mechanical Presses (a.k.a. OBG, OBS, OBI, or C-frame) undergo finite element analysis prior to manufacturing to ensure proper design, superior strength and maximum resistance to deflection.

2 Point Straight Side Presses (GTX SERIES)

The Stamtec GTX two-point straight side press (a.k.a. double crank press) is designed for stamping relatively long, narrow parts at high single-stroking rates or in continuous mode, using either blanks or coil stock; or running progressive dies that need the longer bed area to accommodate long dies with multiple stations. The GTX offers an extra-wide, centered, six-point, full-length box gib type. The GTX provides a large die area at a very economical price, while still providing the rigidity and low deflection characteristics of a traditional straight side press.

Stamtec presses can be customized to meet a wider range of SPM, stroke, rating point (BDC), bed and other specifications and dimensions.

 2 POINT STRAIGHT SIDE PRESSES

S2 Series

The Stamtec S2 two-point straight side press (a.k.a. double crank press) is designed for stamping large parts or ones that require a large bed area to accommodate progressive or transfer dies. Oftentimes, these types of operations require high tonnage, high flywheel energy, maximum frame or bed rigidity, or some combination thereof. The path of the slide is guided by eight full-length, ninety-degree gibs with nickel-bronze wear plates, offering maximum control, a high degree of accuracy and ease of adjustment.

Tonnage Range: 165-2,650
Delivery: In stock or 24-48 weeks.

SLX Link Motion Series

The Stamtec SLX two-point straight side press with link motion drive technology is designed for stamping large parts or parts produced in long progressive dies that require deeper or more complex forming, at high single-stroking rates or in continuous mode, using either blanks or coil stock.

Stamtec's link motion drive technology is standard on the SLX series. With link motion, the slide velocity decreases by up to 40 percent during the working portion of the stroke so the material flows more effectively while the non-working portion of the stroke increases by an offsetting amount to maintain high production rates. The results are better quality parts produced at higher production rates. In addition, the slower speed of the working stroke reduces die impact, punch penetration, snap-through, noise and vibration, thereby increasing machine and die life.

Tonnage Range: 176-550
Delivery Time: 20-24 weeks

 4 POINT STRAIGHT SIDE PRESSES

Transfer Presses

Stamtec's transfer press is designed to run dies with very large dimensions, both left to right and front to back. It can run progressive or transfer dies, running large, odd-shaped or deep-formed parts that require a transfer system to move the parts through the die. Stamtec will work with the transfer system provider of your choice (e.g., HMS, Wayne Trail, Linear, Nobel, Gudel, Atlas) to integrate the transfer system completely with the press, feed line and other peripheral equipment as necessary.

The drivetrain is a low-inertia, high-torque, eccentric-geared drive system featuring precision-cut, steel-rim eccentric gears; plunger guiding; and double-helical gearing for the driveshaft and intermediate gears—all lubricated by an enclosed oil bath and spray system. These features maximize control of side thrust and deliver precision slide tracking throughout the stroke. All gear surfaces are heat treated and finely ground to assure smooth operation and low noise levels.
