 Volkert has deep roots in precision metalworking.What started as the John Volkert Tool & Die shop in Brooklyn, New York in 1935, has now evolved into a full-service Company providing a diverse group of metalworking capabilities -- all driven by the policy of providing "Precision Parts to Customer Specifications." Our capabilities include: HIGH VOLUME PROGRESSIVE DIE, DEEP DRAWN, AND MULTI-SLIDE STAMPINGS: We have significant expertise in providing high volume production of generally small components of light gauge materials, using virtually any raw material that can be stamped on progressive die, transfer press or four slide/multislide machines. These diverse capabilities allow selection of the most efficient manufacturing technology and production technique. Having all these capabilites under one roof significantly differentiates us from most of our competitors. IN-HOUSE TOOLING & FINISHING: Volkert has an experienced tool and die staff and an extensive toolroom for in-house manufacture of all tooling. Toolroom capabilities include state-of-the-art wire EDM and high-speed small hole EDM. A substantial tumbling and degreasing capability rounds out our very complete facility. FABRICATED PRODUCTS AND ASSEMBLIES: Unique expertise in the production and assembly of physically larger parts in generally smaller volumes complete our full-service metalworking capabilities. Our niche is in large drawn parts, medium volume precision sheet metal fabrication and sophisticated mechanical assembly. The fabricating group utilizes its own battery of presses, special purpose trimming machines, and welding, riveting and assembly equipment. VARIETY OF MARKETS SERVED: Volkert serves many markets and has most major electronics companies among its many customers. Other markets that we service include: Cathode Ray and various other Tube Manufacturers; Telecommunications; Connectors, Surge Protection; Bearings, Potentiometer; Food Service; Automotive; Semiconductor; Relay; Computer; Photographic Suppliers; and various Medical Industries. We pride ourselves on fast setups and will always be happy to quote short-run requirements as well as high-volume production. |
