| | Watkins has a long history in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. In its early years, it dabbled in the repair of lawn mowers and similar equipment. In the 1960's, Watkins was going strong as a job shop specializing in turned parts. During that time the Kerf Cutter attachment was developed to drive a circular saw blade. The rotating saw blade replaced the single-point tool used for cutting off.
This method of cutting off was so advantageous that Watkins began commercially marketing the Kerf Cutter in the late 1960's. Since then, Watkins has been refining the method through advancements in attachment design, saw geometry, saw material, and surface treatments. | |
