About Xomox Corporation: |
Xomox was established in 1956 as the Continental Manufacturing Company. The principal product was and still is the Tufline fluorocarbon-sleeved plug valve. The concept of the non lubricated sleeved plug valve was developed as a result of the advent of Teflon by the E.I. Dupont Corporation. Teflon is an important element in the design of the sleeved plug valve. The primary seal in the valve is Teflon which enables the valve to cycle (open and close) without the need for lubrication. Tufline is still the product brand name for our product lines and is well recognized in our served markets; principally, chemical, petrochemical, pulp and paper, hydrocarbon processing and other process industries that comprise the CPI. Xomox developed a full line of Fluorocarbon lined (FEP and PFA) valves for severe chemical applications that would otherwise require highly corrosion resistant metallic valves such as alloy 20, hastelloy and titanium. A Teflon lined valve is a cost effective alternative to high alloy constructed valves. Lined valves are available in plug valve, ball valve, butterfly valve and check valve designs. Xomox also introduced a high performance butterfly valve line in the 1970's and provides a full line of soft seat and metal seat designs for standard process as well as high temperature and fire tested applications. This product line is a critical valve design for a wide variety of applications in the chemical, pulp and paper, oil refinery and related process industries. We have a full line of vane and rack and pinion pneumatic actuators that we apply to provide value added automated valve products to our distributors and end user customers. These automation services are provided from our manufacturing facilities as well as company owned service centers throughout the world. |
