High Frequency Accelerometer for Aerospace Flight Testing, Model 3236A

Press Release:
Aug 12, 2011 — Chatsworth, CA – Dytran Instruments, Inc. (www.dytran.com) a leading manufacturer of piezoelectric and DC MEMS accelerometers, force and pressure transducers and associated electronics, has introduced the model 3236A, a new piezoelectric accelerometer designed for Health & Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS) and aerospace flight testing applications of both commercial and military aircraft. Model 3236A is a ring-style IEPE accelerometer, and is capable of operating at temperatures up to +300°F (+149°C).

Ideally suited for airborne applications, model 3236A features a 3-pin radial “Mighty Mouse” connector and thru-hole mount, which allows for the sensor to be turned 360 degrees prior to securing, aiding the user during sensor installation. With an upper frequency response of 10,000 Hz, model 3236A is ideal for use in flight testing applications.

Offered with a sensitivity of 10 mV/g, the Dytran model 3236A features a quartz sensing element operating in shear mode, packaged in a rugged stainless steel housing. The Dytran 3236A weighs 28 grams, is hermetically sealed for reliable operation in high humidity and dirty environments, and case isolated to avoid EMI/ground loop interference.
