Grease Fitting Manufacturers
A grease fitting, commonly known as a grease nipple or a zerk fitting, is a lubricating fitting found in most industrial equipment, electric motors, and mechanical systems. With a spring-loaded steel ball, a grease fitting looks similar to a bleeder valve used on hydraulic brakes. Grease fittings function as self-sealable connections through which grease is injected into the system for lubrication. Generally, the fitting is installed through a threaded connection, which leaves a nipple connection for a grease gun attachment. By means of pressure in the grease gun, grease is pumped into the system and the steel ball prevents the lubricant from flowing back. The major advantage of using grease fittings is that parts need not be disassembled for lubricating. Grease fittings are commonly made from stainless steel, zinc-plated steel, or brass.
