.jpg) | Liquid Silicone Injection Molding - LIM Da/Pro Rubber offers Liquid Silicone Injection Molding ( LIM ) services in addition to our compression / transfer molding services. Da/Pro is known for high precision, close tolerance molding services and manufactures silicone injection molding parts to these same demanding standards. Liquid silicone injection molding ( LIM ) is similar to transfer molding but the silicone rubber material is supplied through an injection nozzle and is injected into the mold cavity. Under heat and pressure, the silicone rubber cures. The part is then ejected from the cavity and the LIM molding cycle restarts.  | ||||||||
.jpg) | Liquid silicone has a low viscosity. If tooling is not precise, flash occurs and the parts do not come out of the mold clean. Da/Pro Rubber builds LIM tooling that molds precision parts with virtually no flash; decreasing the need for secondary operations. Injection molding silicone requires creative demolding procedures. For low runs, demolding parts can be accomplished manually. With high run production, manual demolding LIM parts would not be cost effective. Da/Pro's LIM department utilizes automation to demold high run jobs. Injection molding automation includes robotic, brush, mechanical, air and custom techniques. The automation increases the cost effectiveness of injection molding and may decrease the run time of the job. | ||||||||
.jpg) | Liquid Silicone Rubber Molding - LSR Liquid Silicone Rubber - LSR is the material used in the liquid injection molding ( LIM ) process at Da/Pro Rubber. LSR produces medium to high volume rubber parts more efficiently and economically than other rubber molding processes. Using LSR materials have the following molding benefits: • LSR molding cycle time is measured in seconds as opposed to minutes by other methods • LSR molding materials are premixed in a closed system preventing contamination • Using LSR in the LIM process produces less scrap from excess rubber molding material than other methods. • The flow properties of liquid silicone rubber make it ideal for molding smaller, tight tolerance parts • The flow properties of LSR also make it essential to manufacture a precision tool to prevent secondary operations caused by excess flash in the molding process. LSR is a cured rubber silicone with low compression set, great stability and the ability to resist extreme temperature variations. Da/Pro Rubber molds components using LSR material in the LIM molding process. LSR components range from medical device valves to gas diaphragms. | ||||||||
