- Metal Belts A metal belt is a flat loop made from metal, useful for a variety of purposes and applications, such as power transmission as well as material handling. Metal belts of various lengths and widths are used as conveyor belts, indexing belts, or timing belts in a number of industries. These belts are either smooth metal surfaces or mesh type surfaces made from a number of different materials depending on the applications, including stainless steel, carbon steel, and exotic metals such as Inconel. A metal conveyor belt is commonly used in the food industry as an oven belt as well as in other applications where an elastomeric belt is not suitable. Metal indexing and timing belts are similar in design with flat metal surfaces, but have perforations. The perforations facilitate positional accuracy and repeatability by meshing them with timing pulleys with protrusions that match the perforations on the belt.

- Metal Spinning Lathes Metal spinning lathes are machine tools used to shape materials to a desired shape by using multiple tools. The material to be shaped is held to the main axis of the lathe perpendicularly and the material is brought into contact with abrasive or cutting tools, and is shaped into the desired form. Usually these lathes employ a user-provided rotationally symmetric mandrel, generally made of wood, as a template onto which the object is molded. Usage of advanced techniques is essential for creating non-symmetric shapes. These lathes are at par with woodworking lathes in simplicity. Lathes of this type are used to produce objects such as table legs, camshafts and crankshafts.
