 Transporter® LP

The Low Profile Transporter® LP magnetically transfers metal blanks, stampings and parts in automated station to station, press-to-press transfer and robotic pick and place systems. Typical applications include stamped parts, tailor welded blanks, body panels and refrigerator door panels.
  • Uses up to 95% less air than vacuum cups
  • Grasps odd shaped or perforated parts
  • Operates effectively in any orientation
  • Outlasts most vacuum cups
  • Positively holds parts - no dropping or shifting
  • Threads onto typical 3/8 NPT vacuum cup tooling
  • Operates on 25 to 60 psi shop air
  • Approximate weight 0.75 Lbs.
  • Durable design for long maintenance free operation

The Transporter® LP is designed to directly replace vacuum cups with minor tooling and valve adjustments. Powerful Rare Earth magnets positively hold the parts during transfer, greatly reducing the chance of slipping and shifting of your part due to oily coatings. An optional "low-skid" boot is also available to increase grip on parts during transfer. A short burst of shop air pressure is applied in order to release parts. To pick-up or grip parts, the air pressure must be exhausted to the atmosphere.

De-stacking (Option DS): The de-stacking option is required for applications de-stacking metal that is thinner than .0478" (18 ga) with the TPLP30 model. The de-stack option features a special magnetic circuit that is designed to de-stack sheets as thin as .030" (22ga). The optional low-skid boot is required for certain applications.

Double Acting (Option DA): Features O-Ring seals & extra air inlet that allow a short blast of air to engage or disengage the grip function. The double acting option is only available on the TPL30 & TPLP50 magnets. Operates at low pressure (20 psi), allows use of 1/4" Lines & can run up to 16 magnets from 1 valve

3/8 BSPP Fitting (Option BS): 3/8 British Standard Pipe Parallel Thread, available on TPLP30 models only.

 RapidFire Retriever®

Versatile, swivel-head design allows various pickup positions on the part, and the long handle enables the operator to safely grab pieces that would normally be out of arm's reach. While lift capacity will vary depending on the size and thickness of parts, the magnetic RapidFire Retriever® is capable of handling up to 35 lbs. and exceeds the lift capacity of most suction cups.
  • Retrieve hot parts off cutting tables with speed and precision!
  • Increases production while reducing the potential for injury
  • Powerful Rare Earth magnet holds parts securely
  • "On-Command" release with just a quick blast of shop air
  • Release is actuated with just one finger, it's as simple as the pull of a trigger

 Alnico

Alnico magnet material is an alloy made up of aluminum, nickel, cobalt and copper, with a rough cast surface which can be ground to close dimensions and to a bright metallic finish. Alnico is electrically conducted, can be E.D.M.'d to form holes and shapes, and can be plated. Alnico is available in a wide variety of shapes and sizes and is typically oriented magnetically through its length. Ideal for high heat applications, alnico can withstand operating temperatures up to 800OF.

Raw magnet material is available in many different types, shapes, sizes and strengths. When selecting magnetic material to perform a given task, certain specifications need to be considered: dimensions, direction of the materials, magnetic orientation, tolerances, finish, strength, and the type of raw magnetic material desired, such as Rare Earth magnets, Ceramic magnets or even Flexible magnetic rubber. Mag-Mate raw magnet material meets Magnetic Materials Producers Association (MMPA) standards for physical quality and magnetic properties.

 Ceramic

Ceramic magnet material is a nonmetallic compound of iron oxide, strontium ferrite and small quantities of other metal oxides. The compound is calcined wet ball milled to a fine particle size, binders are added, then the mix is compacted in a press. The compacted shapes are fired at high temperatures in kilns to a closely controlled temperature cycle. Upon cooling, the parts are diamond sawed and diamond wheel ground to specifications.

Low cost, light weight and fairly high energy, Ceramic is a hard, brittle, nonconductive material. It is difficult to grind and cannot be E.M.D.'d, machined or drilled by normal methods. Ceramic is dense black or blue-black in color. It has a thin cross section, is mostly available in slabs or rings and is usually oriented magnetically through its thickness. Ceramic magnet material performs best when temperatures do not exceed 350OF.

 Rare Earth

Due to their tremendously high energy level, Rare Earth magnets are ideal for miniaturized applications. They offer high resistance to demagnetization and are recommended for applications with temperature ranges under 200ºF. Raw Rare Earth magnets have a dull metallic appearance and tend to be very brittle. They can be ground, but caution must be exercised not to crush the material. Be aware of possible fire from the dust particles produced from grinding or cutting Rare Earth magnet materials.

 Inspection Probe

IMI's PROBE magnetic inspection tools allow quality assurance people to inspect incoming or outgoing material/batches/shipments for ferrous metal contamination. They are used to determine if ferrous particles exist in non-ferrous material.

This extremely powerful Rare Earth magnetic tool captures iron particles in products such as; plastic resins, wood fibers, crumb rubber, etc. The long, 46" handle on the magnetic probe has a black, ball grip and allows you to reach deep into containers for best batch testing.

 Magnetic Welding Angles

IMI's Welding Angles are available in either Standard (always on) or On/Off models.

ON/OFF 90° WELDING ANGLES: Unlike a standard magnetic welding angle, these switchable Rare Earth welding angles can be turned on and off! The ON/OFF 90° Rare Earth Magnetic Welding Angle is reversible for inside or outside angles and holds flat against pipe. Simply place it on a work surface, turn it on and start welding. Versatile design with pre-drilled holes allows for quick adjustment or addition of magnetic bases.

ON/OFF ADJUSTABLE WELDING ANGLES: The unique design of our Adjustable Welding Angles has magnetic bases that rotate for virtually unlimited welding angles and is reversible for inside or outside holds - even against pipe. So not only will the magnet stay clean and free of particle build up when not in use (no wiping!), but it also lets you position the welding angle to your piece without fighting a magnetic field and marring it's surface. Once you've got your angle set, simply rotate the handles to turn the magnets on. This lets welders set up, weld and move on to the next job in a flash.

ON/OFF PIVOTING WELDING ANGLE: Quickly and easily set up and hold steel in angles ranging from 22° to 270° with an adjustable, locking handle and marked degree indicators every 45° for accuracy. On/Off Pivoting Welding Angle offers versatile, work-holding ability on three sides of each magnet with a 200lb. holding value and accommodates flat or round steel.

STANDARD 90° WELDING ANGLE: Our standard, 90° welding angle has powerful permanent magnets that hold steel securely in place for welding. Versatile design allows steel placement on either inside angle for interior welds or outside angle for exterior welds and has mounting holes for easy fixturing.
