An air cooled chiller uses air to extract heat from a liquid, in order to cool it. In air-cooled chillers, ambient air, which is mechanically circulated over a condenser coil, is used to extract heat from the liquid and expel it into the atmosphere. This removes the need for additional cooling towers for this type of chiller. Air-cooled chillers are particularly useful for cooling outdoor installations and operations.

An adhesive film is used to bond materials together and can be classified as a pressure sensitive adhesive, drying adhesive, and thermosetting adhesive, based on its bonding technique. Pressure sensitive adhesives require only the application of pressure to form the bond, whereas in the case of drying adhesives, the solvent in the adhesive needs to evaporate to form a bond. Thermosetting adhesives require the application of heat to cure them and form the bond. Various adhesive films are utilized in a number of industries, including the aerospace and automobile.

An accumulating conveyor is made up of several stages equipped with photoelectric or other sensors to detect the accumulation of loads within the various stages. As the leading stage is blocked by a stopping device the driving force is removed from the second stage and a load accumulates in the second stage. The process is repeated at each successive stage until the stopping device is removed.

Acme leadscrews are regular motion drive systems consisting of a thread angle of 29 degrees and are used in several manual mechanisms ranging from mills to lathes to food processing plants to the equipment with highest precision found in hard disk platter manufacturing plants. They deliver extremely high accuracy in spite of similarity to conventional screw/nut in construction and function. Carbon steel or stainless steel are the most common materials of construction; however other grades of stainless steel, carbon steel and aluminum alloys are also used. These screws are utmost preferred for basic motions.

An ACME nut is a type of nut used in conjunction with lead screws or power screws that have the Acme threaded geometry. Acme nuts are an integral part of an Acme threaded lead screw's ability to translate radial motion into linear motion. The thread form is essentially trapezoidal in shape, with a thread angle of 29° instead of the conventional angle of 30°. This type of thread form is not as efficient as the square thread form, but is much easier to machine. These Acme nuts are made from a number of materials of which plastic, bronze, and steel are the most common.

A carbon filter is a unit containing a media of activated (processed) carbon to remove organic impurities and residual chemicals from water, alcohol, or compressed air and gas.

An aero-mechanical conveyor is constructed of two parallel tubular housings containing a sprocket driven continuous loop of steel cable. Discs that are smaller than the inside diameter of the tubes are mounted at equal intervals along the steel cable. One side of the housing is for conveying, and the other is for return. Material entering the inlet is moved in a fluidized form, by pockets of air between the discs, further aided mechanically by movement of the discs.
