PathWay® Model 7954 Dual Channel RS-530 Mode-S Solid State Switch, DB25 Interface, with Exclusive Automatic Remote Control & Monitoring

- Utilizes Solid State High Speed Analog Switches for improved reliability. No moving parts or contacts to degrade.

The Path Way® Model 7954 Dual Channel RS-530 Mode-S Switch with DB25 Interface, Remote Control and Solid State Auto-Switching Functions allows the user two independent channels of A/B Switch function. The A/B function permits data on input MPS ports from either of two devices connected to ports MPSA-IN and MPSB-IN, to stream through to output ports MPSA-OUT and MPSB-OUT, respectively. Only one position, A or B, may stream data at a time for each channel. The Model 7954 is configured to mount in a standard 19 inch equipment rack within 1U of rack space.

The switch is controlled remotely from a device connected to its REMOTE port. The Remote port has a custom interface DB25 connector located on the rear of the unit. The various status, monitoring and control signals present on this port allow the switch to be managed by a device capable of interpreting these signals and, based on these signals, issue control commands to be executed by the switch. The details of operation are discussed in the Operator's Manual. The switch position is displayed on the front panel LEDs. There are no local control buttons on the unit. All position control is managed via the Remote port.

Features:
- The switched ports are transparent to all data.
- Twelve pins per channel are supported (4 pins switched, 8 pins bussed through).
- The DTR / DCD lines of the RS530 interface are switched based on desired position, TXD, TXC are passed through the unit from IN to OUT at all times.
- Channels 1 & 2 are switched independently.
- Switch data activity may be monitored via the Remote port.
- Switch position can be interpreted / read by status pins that are part of the Remote port.
- Switch position is managed by te device connected to the Remote port, exclusively.
- Front panel LEDs display the current switch position and power status.
- Switch function is implemented with solid state technology and will not maintain current pathways during power failure.
- Upon power up, each channel will align with its CONTROL contact input.

Specifications:
Port Connectors: (8) DB25(F) connectors, (4) for each channel, labeled MPSA-IN, MPSB-IN, MPSA-OUT, MPSB-OUT.

Model 7387 Single Channel RS232 DB25 A/B Switch with Fallback and Remote Port

- Can also switch automatically. You select the trigger signal: RD or DCD

The PathWay Model 7387 Single Channel RS-232 DB25 A/B Switch with Fallback and Remote Port allows the user the capability of sharing a single port interface device connected to the Common port among two other devices connected to the A and B ports. The remote port can be used to attain switch position status by using the provided set of contact closure pins. The remote port can also be used to control the switch position using a separate set of contact closure pins. When in automatic fallback mode the unit monitors either RD activity or DCD presence on ports A and B. If activity or presence of the selected trigger signal (RD or DCD) is lost on the current port, the unit checks if there is activity or presence on the other port and, in the event that there is activity or presence, the unit switches to the other port. If there is no activity or presence on either port, the unit will maintain its connection to its current port and continue to monitor both ports. The user can override automatic fallback operation from the front panel or remote port and force the unit to operate as an A/B switch (RS232 Fallback Switch).

Features:
- The unit may be switched manually, remotely, or automatically.
- The unit may be programmed via DIP switch settings to use either the RD signals or the DCD signals as triggers for automatic switching. See operation manual for details.
- Front panel LED's display switch position, mode, and power status.
- All pins of the DB25 interface are switched.
- The switch ports are transparent to all data.
- All switched signals are passed via latching copper contact relays that maintain their position and continuity even in the event of a power loss.
- When power is restored, unit loads previous position and mode of operation and checks DIP switch settings and remote port to determine the correct startup configuration.

Specifications:
Port Connectors: (3) DB25 female connectors labeled A, B, and Common.
Front Panel Control: (1) manual pushbutton allows local switching.
Display: (2) Front panel LED's display switch position, power status and mode of operation.

 Model 7125 DB9 A/B Automatic Fallback Switch,
with Contact Closure Remote Port
Automatic fallback based on loss of data on port "A" (PRIMARY GPS).
Data activity "Watch Dog" switch keeps data flowing.

The PathWay® Model 7125 DB9 A/B Automatic Fallback Switch with Contact Control Remote Port, allows the user the capability of sharing a single port interface device connected to the COMMON port among two other devices connected to the A (PRIMARY) and B (SECONDARY) ports with remote access functionality. Remote Control access can be accomplished through the Contact Closure REMOTE Port.

When in automatic fallback mode (AUTO), the unit monitors data activity on the PRIMARY port. If activity is lost, the unit switches to the SECONDARY port (B) until data activity is detected on PRIMARY port (A), at which time the unit will automatically return to the "A" position. If no data is present on either the PRIMARY port (A) or on the SECONDARY port (B), the unit will stay in the "B" position and continue to monitor for data. The user can override automatic fallback operation from the front panel or from the Remote Port and force the unit to operate as an A/B switch.

Features:
Allows quick connection to any one of two DB9 interface devices from one COMMON DB9 interface device.
Switches automatically by loss of data activity after 3 seconds that is monitored and detected on PRIMARY port pins 2 & 3.
Auto-switch logic: If activity on PRIMARY port A, stay on PRIMARY port A; if data activity is lost from PRIMARY port A, switch to SECONDARY port B.
Switches all 9 pins of the DB9 interface.
Connector interface is (2) DB9 female connectors for PRIMARY and SECONDARY ports. (1) DB9 male connector for the COMMON port.

Transparent to data speed and format.
Manual switching from the front panel 3-position rotary switch:
PRIMARY GPS, SECONDARY GPS, and AUTO.
When the front panel rotary switch is in the PRIMARY GPS or SECONDARY GPS positions, the Remote Control capability is disabled and cannot be activated.

When the front panel rotary switch is in the AUTO position the Remote Control can be enabled and activated by contact closure.
AUTO LED blinks to indicate that the Remote Control is activated.
Remote port also allows for contact closure feedback indicating switch position, and for remotely overriding the switching function only when the front panel rotary switch is in the AUTO position.
Front panel LED's display switch position, mode and power status.
Retains last switch position in the event of a power loss and continues to pass data.
